Yunus Centre Press Release (April 18, 2018)

Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus addressed the students and faculty at Illinois State University (ISU) the first public university established in the state over150 years back. ISU hosted the lecture on Saturday evening. This was attended by 500 students, faculty, staff and community members. Extra seating capacity had to be arranged at the last moment due to huge response from the audience even during an inclement weather. Professor Yunus signed copies of his new book for the distinguished guests at the event. University President Larry Dietz hosted a dinner in honor of Professor Yunus at his residence. Other guests at the dinner included Provost Jan Murphy, Dean Greg Simpson of the College of Arts and Sciences and ISU.

Professor Yunus also met Bangladeshi students and faculty members and their families at the university separately to celebrate Pohela Boishak with them.
